Circulation Home Delivery Manager
American Press is accepting applications for a Circulation Home Delivery Manager. This position is responsible for the delivery and customer satisfaction of American Press subscribers through the use of an independent contractor force in our home delivery area. The Home Delivery Manager will ensure that all newspapers are delivered in a timely and satisfactory manner while maintaining carrier service goals. The ideal candidate for this position must be self-motivated with excellent time management and problem solving skills, together with strong interpersonal, communication, and organization skills. Must be computer literate with basic understanding of Excel, Word and Outlook. Must be a positive communicator and have previous experience in a supervisory or managerial role. The position is full-time. Work hours vary and include early AM start times.
Duties include: Recruit, contract and train qualified individuals as independent contractors responsible for circulation growth and subscriber delivery, service and retention. Ensure that all routes are delivered by established delivery deadlines and assist independent contractors to ensure deliveries are completed on time and to the customers’ satisfaction. If necessary personally deliver routes.
Requirements: 1) Previous newspaper industry and/or home delivery experience, 2) Previous management or supervisory experience, 3) Good health and ability to lift up to 30 pounds on a regular basis including delivery of newspapers 4) Previous night shift experience preferred, 5) Reliable transportation and possess a valid driver’s license and current proof of insurance and clean driving record, 6) Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays (if needed).
