Police Officer
Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to four (4) years of high school plus ability to successfully pass a physical agility test, written and oral examination, background security investigation, drug testing, psychological exam and medical examination.
Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and be 21 years of age upon appointment. Selected candidate must meet residency requirement, which includes a thirty-mile radius on the Illinois side of Rock Island and fall within a 60 minute commute time within 6 months after completing one (1) year probation period.
The starting salary is $58,383.00.
The date for the physical agility test will be April 4, 2020 between the hours of 8:00 am and 11:00 am at the Rock Island Police Department, at 1212 5th Avenue, Rock Island. Registration will begin at 8:00 am and the testing will follow. A valid driver’s license must be presented at the agility test and written test.
Applicants must successfully complete the agility test in order to be eligible to take the written test. The written test is scheduled for April 4, 2020 at 1:00 pm – at the Rock Island Police Department.
Applicants must have completed a City of Rock Island application by March 27, 2020 at 5:00 pm to be eligible to test.
