Mechanical Engineer 1B, E.I. (multiple positions)
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Starting with establishing the boundary conditions of the process, piping specifications,
reviewing the P&IDs, and reviewing piping system in the field. Efficiently create
extensive/complex Caesar II models with various pieces of equipment and numerous piping
arrangements. Create multiple load cases as required by the stress analysis model. Discuss and
participate in the development of new procedures for various analysis cases. Complete system
analysis per B31.3 codes, using CAESAR II software and create a stress report. Perform peer
review checks for their respective stress models. Identify vessel/tank nozzles, review drawings,
and gather all relevant information for respective nozzles. Equipment nozzle check by NOZZLE
PRO software. Read and understand various relevant industry codes and standards. Pumps
analysis based on ANSI and/or API 610 codes. Steam Turbine analysis per API 611 and NEMA-
SM 23. Tanks mechanical calculations per API 650 codes. Fin Fan Cooler analysis per API 661.
Pressure vessel calculations par ASME Section VIII codes. Generate Specification Sheets for
mechanical equipment pumps, tanks, heat exchangers and pressure vessels. Discuss and procure
quotes from vendors for all the different stages of a project. Budget estimates support for
estimators, including BOM’s. Support for estimators, for total installed cost and engineering
estimates for different project stages.
Write Mechanical/Piping Scopes of Work. Check engineering packages (P&IDs, Line Lists,
Isometrics, etc.) to ensure all items follow client and industry standards. Participate in client
model reviews for quality, feasibility, and constructability checks.
Requirements for this position
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Three years’ experience in mechanical engineering calculations, design, and requirements met
for E.I. registration with LAPELS.
Experience to include the following software applied on these projects and studies:
Autodesk Navisworks Freedom, Caesar II, Nozzle Pro, Compress, Autodesk ReCap.
